Permaculture instructor Andrew Millison journeys to India to film the incredible work of the Deccan Heritage Foundation who along with the Indian Heritage Cities Network Foundation are seeking to restore the Karez of Naubad, which is an ancient underground water supply canal built in the 1400's. We tour the Karez in the city of Bidar, in the state of Karnataka with Srikara Dattatreya, the administrator of the Deccan Heritage Foundation. The Karez is also known as a qanat line or chain of wells. This is the story of how and why that ancient system has been resurrected. This video was filmed in late 2019 when I was in India filming the "India's Water Revolution" series, but was never edited until now.
