Linda Scott is author of The Double X Economy, which documents the worldwide economic exclusion of women, explains the history behind it, and debunks the myths used to justify it. Professor Scott is retired from a distinguished professorship at Oxford, where she researched the women’s economy by working directly with women around the world and by analyzing new international data sets.
Scott proposes practical interventions to reach economic gender equality, while demonstrating that fair inclusion would build prosperity for the world’s citizens, while also reducing human suffering on a global scale. She has worked extensively with international agencies, global charities, and major multinational corporations to test the effectiveness of these interventions. The Double X Economy, which has already been short-listed for prestigious awards, was released in English in July 2020, and is already being translated into multiple languages.
