Kehkashan Basu

Kehkashan is a United Nations Human Rights Champion, winner of the International Children's Peace Prize and National Geographic Young Explorer. She is also the youngest recipient of Canada's Top 25 Women of Influence and L'Oréal Paris' Women of Worth Canada. She is the Council Lead of the Toronto-St. Paul's Constituency Youth Council, a Climate Reality Mentor, TEDx Speaker, author, musician. Kehkashan has been working tirelessly on children's and women's rights and sustainable development for the past 12 years. She is the Founder-President of global social innovation enterprise Green Hope Foundation, which is accredited to the UN Environment Programme and works in 16 countries, using Education for Sustainable Development as a transformative tool. Green Hope Foundation received the Innovator of the Year Award for Sustainability Education out of the Top100 innovations in the world in 2019. Kehkashan has just been named as one of the Top100 SDG Leaders in the world.
