Ida Momennejad is a Senior Researcher in Reinforcement Learning at Microsoft Research, NYC. Ida’s background is in CS, psychology, philosophy, and computational neuroscience. Her work focuses on human-like and brain-inspired RL in single and multi-agent settings. Using RL, she studies human cognition: testing how humans build models of the world in behavioral and neural (fMRI, electrophysiology) experiments, and which algorithms (e.g., successor representation learning and replay) capture brain-like processes of memory, navigation, and planning. Her recent work at MSR includes Interaction Grounded Learning, collaborations on memory in RL, the Human Navigation Turing Test (HNTT) with the MSR Cambridge team in the context of a multi-player Xbox game (bleeding edge), and ongoing work on developing multi-agent algorithms to play the game inspired by large-scale human player data.
