UMIYAC | Ayahuasca and Healing Collective Trauma

During the World Ayahuasca Conference, representatives of the indigenous peoples of the Colombian Amazon called for the protection of their territories and peoples. That’s why they created UMIYAC, the Union of Indigenous Yagé Medics of the Colombian Amazon, an indigenous organization and a network of spiritual authorities formed in 1999 by traditional healers of five indigenous groups. Their mission is the protection of traditional knowledge and ancestral medical practices, as well as the defence of the Amazon rainforest.
