What a wild year 2020 has been. In one way or another, every single one of us has been affected by the events of this year. This is indeed the first time in history that we are unified by a global initiation.

December 21st is the Winter Solstice for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice for those in the Southern Hemisphere.

Solstices and Equinoxes have been observed for thousands of years, being celebrated in some way by almost every ancient civilization. In Mayan tradition, for instance, the Winter Solstice was regarded as more important than the birth of a new solar year! To them it represented the beginning of a new Great Cycle of time, the resetting of the great celestial star-clock, and heralded the possibility of an unprecedented shift in human consciousness and civilization at large. All across the planet throughout our ancient past, pyramids and intricate stone calendars have been built to help us track these moments.

Although today we have lost many of our ancient practices, these seasonal celebrations of Light can be a reminder for all of us that even if the world seems to be turning on its head, it is only a season, and the Light always prevails.

On December 21st this year, there is also a very auspicious astrological alignment occurring between Jupiter and Saturn, which many astrologers and thought leaders see as the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. It is thought that this day marks the ushering in of a new awareness for humanity: an era of solutions, possibilities, a time where we are being called to get in touch with and live from our deepest soul essence. We are being asked to trust who we are, to be an individual, and not worry about fitting in or belonging with the lower vibrational energies we are meant to step out of.
