Marty Sheller is the award-winning arranger and jazz trumpeter whose musical skills can be heard on hundreds of recordings. He worked with Mongo Santamaria for many years (yes, that is Marty taking the trumpet solo on “Watermelon Man”) beginning in 1961. Marty was also the house arranger for Fania Records where he worked with a long list of Latin-jazz artists. As a freelance arranger and trumpeter Marty worked with Dave Pike (“Just Say Goodbye”), Willie Colon ( “El Gran Varon”) as well as Woody Shaw (“We’ll Be Together Again”). In 2008 he released his first ever solo album under his own name entitled Why Deny. READ MORE

Charley Gerard was the 2019 recipient of New Jazz Works from Chamber Music America. He performs with his group the Broken Reed Saxophone Quartet (listen on Spotify). With Marty Sheller he is the author of Salsa: The Rhythm of Latin Music. Oscar Hernández

4x Grammy Award Winner Oscar Hernández has long been considered one of the most gifted and prominent pianist/ arrangers on the Latin-jazz and salsa music scene. He is the leader of Spanish Harlem Orchestra, one of the most renown Salsa & Latin Jazz bands of recent times.

They’ve won 3 Grammys. Oscar Hernández has recorded and performed with artists such as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Julio Iglesias, Juan Luis Guerra, Ray Barreto. He was the Musical Director/Conductor for “The Capeman” Paul Simon’s Broadway musical. He is currently just finished working as arranger/orchestrator, on the new hit Broadway musical by Gloria Estefan “ On Your Feet” Oscar also worked with Lin Manuel Miranda on some of the dance music for the Broadway show as well as the film of “In The Heights” He recently released his 2nd solo CD as a leader “Love The Moment” on the Origin Label. When it comes to Salsa & Latin Jazz, he is continually in demand as Pianist, Composer/Arranger & Producer and is generally considered one of the best.
