Black Lives Matter Describe-A-Thon

Celebrate activism in DC by helping provide access to items collected from the Black Lives Matter Memorial Fence in Lafayette Square.

Celebrate activism in DC by helping The People’s Archive add digital images of posters, banners, clothing, and other items collected from the Black Lives Matter Memorial Fence in Lafayette Square to our digital collection Dig DC. Learn to create descriptions, called metadata, at this hands-on virtual event. No prior knowledge of metadata is required to participate. All skills levels are welcome. This event will be completely virtual.

Please note: Some items include strong language and images of violence.

The Black Lives Matter Memorial Fence Artifact Collection is a partnership between DC Public Library, Enoch Pratt Free Library, Library of Congress, and Howard University.
