More than ever before people all over the world have adopted yoga and made it part of their daily or regular routine, using this ancient practice to achieve a wholesome state of physical and mental health and wellbeing. But how important is it to be or become very flexible and strong? Is this all yoga is?
The answer is no. There is so much more to yoga than the exercises taught nowadays in many of the yoga classes or in many of the yoga and fitness apps. True yoga allows us to not just make our body more balanced and strong, but also to calm the mind, and finally transcend it. This gives tremendous rest to our mind and nervous system, allowing them to become free from the stress, anxiety and other negative emotions that we have accumulated. And it allows us to tap into much more subtle dimensions of our existence.
In this 1-hour free masterclass Swami Purnachaitanya will address many common misunderstandings about yoga and explain what the traditional scriptures of the Yogic tradition say about the definition and purpose of the science of yoga. You will not only learn the difference between exercise and asanas, but also about the place of meditation and breathwork in the practice of yoga. You will also gain a practical experience of breathwork and meditation, leaving you with valuable tools, that can help you manage your mind.
We will have a Theoretical Session and then a vivid experience of breathwork with a guided meditation that will help you to gain an authentic experience of these yogic techniques, and leave you calmer, refreshed and rejuvenated.
