Jackson Hinkle is a community organizer and the founder of the independent media outlet, The Dive. He is also a former candidate for San Clemente City Council. He has spent his career organizing around the issues of climate and sustainability, nuclear waste storage, anti-imperialism and various other leftist causes. Jackson has briefed the U.S. Congress on the safe storage of nuclear waste, helped organize a student-led initiative that converted six high school campuses to solar power, and spearheaded a movement that ended the sale of plastic water bottles on over 60 campuses in his school district. Jackson was named as one of Teen Vogue’s Top 8 Young Environmentalists of 2017 and as the Orange County Peace Coalition’s “Rising Star” of 2018. Today, he spends his time combating the corporate-controlled narratives on the mainstream media, by holding important conversations with movement leaders, elected officials, candidates for public office and other influential figures on his media outlet, The Dive.
